I had a fabulous time at CHA Friday! It was so wonderful to finally “meet” Holly, Tammy & Robin. They are wonderful, funny and fabulous people. The Internets allow you to meet awesome people and I’m blessed to be friends with these girls!
The day didn’t start off real great though. Instead of hitting snooze, I turned off my alarm… which I realized when the dogs woke me up at 7:30 a.m. (I wanted to be on the road by 7!) Oopsie. I texted Holly and I know she thought it was hilarious.
After checking in, I walked into the hall and it was like nirvana. Seriously folks. For an artist/crafter/nut like myself it was pure bliss. My knees were weak. My heart was racing. Where to start? Well, of course I ran over to the Pink Paislee booth to meet Holly, Tammy, Cyndi and Boo. (Cyndi is Holly’s mom – very cool lady, and Boo is Tammy’s daughter). We talked for awhile and then I was off to explore, check out all the new products and bask in the glory that is craft heaven.
I took lots of pictures (which you can see at flickr)… but somehow I failed to take a photo of the PP booth. WTH? Many apologies. I must have been distracted by all the other things. Yes, as I’ve mentioned before, I am very easily distracted. It’s pretty bad sometimes. Oooo – something shiny!
Oh, and did I mention I was in CRAFT HEAVEN?
Anywho, let’s see… some of my favorite things from the show…
The Kaiser booth was really nice, and the make & take was awesome. I didn’t get a photo of mine… but it’s very similar to this:
At least that’s the color scheme. You can see the actual m&t at Robin’s blog. I got some other goodies from them including gems and rubons! woo hoo!
Another fun m&t was at the Helmar booth. Helmar is an Australian adhesives company. Their adhesives absolutely ROCK! Here’s the mini book I made there:
I loved the new Sassafrass, October Afternoon and My Mind’s Eye products:
Then, of course, there was this:
Yes, the mother ship was calling me home. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the new Basic Grey product lines.
The BG make & take was pretty cool too. It was a mini/memo/note book. The demonstrator, Kelly, was awesome and so funny. She was telling us about how they were trying to make up different sayings with the chipboard letters: NOTEDSMEMOS. They had figured out you could do “DOES MOST MEN” but said no one had done it. I guess it was a running joke all day.
Then I came along. I said I would do it and they didn’t believe me. Kelly dared me to do it and, well, here’s the proof:
UPDATE: Kelly reminds me to tell you about that paper pack in my hand! When she dared me to do most men, I asked what she’d give me if I actually did it. And you know what? She gave me the ENTIRE new line of BG paper! It’s almost 100 sheets of Basic Grey Goodness. When she gave it to me I exclaimed, “SCRAP PORN!” and everyone thought that was pretty funny. But, seriously. It’s scrap porn people. Pure bliss!
anyways, as you can tell, I had a fabulous time. We had drinks in the hotel lounge at the end of the day and then went out for dinner. Here’s proof that I met some of the plurk “hookers”:
Next up… AI concert and David Cook… mmmmmmmmmm
